iSi Extreme Duty Bicycle Carrier System - User Guide

1
Install the two M8 hex bolts with washer through the pivot base latch mount and the latch arms. Secure the hex bolts with the M8 Nyloc nuts but do not tighten fully (Nyloc nuts do not require to be tightened to stay in place).

Ensure that the latch arm assembly can rotate freely and close under its own weight.

2
Install the pivot base into the hitch receiver.

See iSi Hitch Stabilizer Installation Guide to lock the Power Pivot base into the receiver.

If not using the iSi Hitch Stabilizer System, insert the original hitch receiver security pin and deploy the stabilizer in accordance with your tow hitch manufacturer.

3
Apply a light coating of grease over a security pin.

Align the lower hinge tube on the main beam assembly with the lower hinge on the pivot base.

Insert through the lower pivot point. Install the R-clip into the end of the security pin.

4
Raise the main beam until the latch arms engage over the upper security tube on the main beam assembly.

Apply a light coating of grease over a security pin and insert through the upper security tube. Install the R-clip into the end of the security pin.

5
Insert the horizontal beams through the bicycle support tubes in the main beam. Hint - if tight, rotate beam 90 degrees.

Do not tighten the hex socket head clamping screws yet.

6

Install the wheel support hoops as shown. Do not tighten the hex socket head clamping screws.

Install the beam end caps into the ends of the horizontal beams. Hint, use a light plastic hammer to tap the plugs into position.

7
Insert the support post into the double clamp vertical support tube in the main beam. Hint - if tight, rotate support post 90 degrees.

Install one double padded frame hook into the support tube with the hook facing towards the front of the vehicle and tighten the tee bolt lightly to position the hook high on the post.

Remove the post.

8
Load a bicycle into the forward position and adjust the position of each wheel hoop for even wheel contact inside each hoop. Ensure that the bicycle is reasonably central inside the horizontal beam.

Insert the support post and tighten the two corner tee-bolt clamps. Lower the frame hook over the frame tube but do not tighten the hook corner clamp yet.

Tighten the corner clamping screws on the wheel hoops.

Adjust the position of the horizontal beam to ensure that the bicycle is central to the rear of the vehicle. Hint - keep an eye on the position of the frame hook whilst adjusting.

9
Load a bicycle into the rearward position and adjust the position of each wheel hoop for even wheel contact inside each hoop. Ensure that the bicycle is reasonably central inside the horizontal beam and clear of the forward loaded bicycle.

Insert the second frame hook to secure the rear bicycle into position. Do not tighten the hook corner clamp yet.

Adjust the position of the horizontal beam if required.

Tighten the corner clamping screws on the wheel hoops.

Install an end cap into the top of the support post.

Tighten all fasteners.

10

Once the bicycle positions are adjusted correctly, apply light pressure to ensure even frame hoop double padding contact onto the bicycle frame and tighten the corner clamp tee-bolt.

WARNING: Do not compress suspension when pushing hook down.

iSi Extreme Duty Bicycle Carrier System - Lower Bicycle Carrier

1
Ensure that the positive locking latches are engaged.

Remove the R-clip from the top security pin. To avoid losing the R-clip, insert the R-clip through the hole near the handle section of the security pin.

Remove the upper security pin.

2
Stand at the rear of the carrier and support the load. Raise the rear slightly to release the positive locking latches and with a foot, tap the latch release lever upwards.

Lower the bicycles.

iSi Extreme Duty Bicycle Carrier System - Raise Bicycle Carrier

1
Ensure that the latch assembly is down.

Raise the bicycles until the positive locking latches engage.

2
Insert the upper security pin and install the R-clip into the end of the security pin.

iSi Extreme Duty Bicycle Carrier System - Optimization

1
It is preferable for both bicycles to be secured at the natural low point on the frame. If not at this point, additional strapping may be required at the wheels to retain the bicycles in place in rough terrain.
2
It is safer to secure both bicycles on the one support post. If this is not possible, a secondary support post is supplied.
3
The staggered configuration front to back permits precise side by side loading of both bicycles. Ensure that there is at least a small amount of clearance to cater for any vibrations over rough terrain.
